Introduction

In the present era of innovation, the eminent beginning of Industry 4.0 has generated more than ever before opportunities and challenges for the advancement in Electrical and Computer Engineering. The world has been witnessing incredible advancements in the software segment in the recent past. The developments in machine intelligence, Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs), and sensing devices are making the software and hardware systems smarter like never before by penetrating deep in all the facets right from the power sector, IT/ITES, manufacturing, process, healthcare, agriculture to day-to-day life. At the same time, there are continuous advancements in electric vehicles, energy sector, smart grids and thereby, the complex interfacing of computer and electrical systems is a need of the time. In this context, industries seek engineers who can design and build electrical/electronic systems, and proficient in computing technologies, programming and software tools. With such progressive evolution, the demand for innovative services and many more challenges are being posed for the Electrical and Computer Engineers, and they need to find new directions to tackle it.

Introduction

In the present era of innovation, eminent beginning of Industry 4.0 has generated more than ever before opportunities and challenges for the advancement in the field of electrical and computer engineering. The market, including those of customers and regulators is undergoing continuous developments in electrical vehicles, renewable energy, smart grids, algorithms and software, Internet of Things, machine to machine communication, computing technologies and others. With such progressive evolution, the demand of innovative services and many more challenges are being posed for the engineers, and they need to find new directions to tackle it.
MTech by Research (eMobility) is a research intensive multidisciplinary program, especially designed to prepare the students to undertake quality research and contribute in expanding the frontiers of eMobility and allied areas. This program is of flexible nature and can be completed in min. 2 years. The MTech by Research in eMobility program is offered for full-time students as well as professionals working in Industry, academia and research organisations. Major area of research includes EV Machine and Drives, Embedded Systems and Control, Power Electronics, Battery Technologies and Management Systems, Charging Infrastructures, Green Energy, EV Telematics and VANETs, Artificial Intelligence, Internet of Things and allied areas.
To keep the pace with Industry and research, the school has established a strong interface with Industry and research organizations such as Siemens, Texas Instruments, IBM, KPIT, Tata Elxsi, Tata Power Institute, ICTP Italy, and many others. The student-centric approach of the school encourages the students to bring in the fresh ideas and undertake the research in the emerging areas of electrical, networks and computer engineering.
